How we store time in our body, and how to use the idea of the future

Keith Howes has been running a provocative program for the Theosophical Society of Sydney called ‘Toward 3012’. For the final week, he has invited me to join him to present and lead discussion based on my essay The Role of the Future.

The Theosophical Society of Sydney
Theosophy House Level 2, 484 Kent St Sydney (02) 9267 6955
2pm, Thur 19 August 2010
Cost: $5 for nonmembers of the society

Commissioners’ Circle, 3rd public meeting

After 2 successful public meetings, the third Commissioners’ Circle meeting will feature a panel comprising:

  • Janne Ryan from the Creative Music Fund, a cloud-commissioning model that resulted in Elena Kats-Chernin’s percussion concerto Golden Kitsch.
  • Father Arthur Bridge of Ars Musica Australis, commissioner of over 170 works from over 70 composers, including John Taverner and Eijno Raatuvaara.

As usual, I’ll host the discussion and we’ll contrast their two different methods of raising funds for new works. Please bring your curiosity!

The Sound Lounge
Seymour Centre, Corner of City Road and Cleveland Street, Sydney, Australia
6:00 – 8:30pm, 25 August 2010
Cost: free (but please RSVP at vicepresident@lylechanmusic.com)

I’d love to personally meet anyone who is interested in BOTH topics, ie. music and personal development. Please make yourself known to me and we’ll have a great chat.
