A free forum on commissioning classical music

by lylechan on April 7, 2010

I am speaking at the first-ever Commissioners’ Circle meeting organized by chronology arts. This is designed to educate interested people and organizations on exactly what’s involved in the exciting process of commissioning a new piece of music. I will be joined by composer Ross Edwards, artistic director Roland Peelman and composers/entrepreneurs Andrew Batt-Rawden and Alex Pozniak.

Lots of avenues exist to educate composers and performers, but virtually none for commissioners – which is interesting considering how important funding sources are – so this is our contribution to demystifying what’s involved and ultimately to link up the right commissioners with appropriate composers and performers.

Anyone is welcome, especially if you fall into any one of the above three categories. But seats are very limited due to the size of the room, so please RSVP promptly.

Thursday 15 April, 6:30pm to 7:30pm
“72 Erskine” – 72 Erskine St, Sydney (near Wynyard)

Please RSVP to rsvp@lylechanmusic.com
